2004 · 香港
In post-revolutionary Hungary in 1958, the tragic story of political and sexual repression unfolds with the discovery of Eva Szalanczky, a political journalist, whose body is found near the border, while her friend Livia lies in the hospital with a broken neck and Livia's husband Donci is under arrest. A flashback to the previous year reveals the events leading to this tragedy, showing how Eva, who secures a job as a writer, meets and develops feelings for Livia, who reciprocates but struggles with her identity as a married woman. Both women face constraints in their professional lives as they encounter boundaries when attempting to express political truths, and in their personal lives where they grapple with the limitations of embracing their sexual and emotional realities, highlighting the oppressive atmosphere of the time.
